Tariq “Terry” Al-Mutawa, M.D, affectionately known as Dr. Terry, has been promoted to Chief Medical Officer. In addition to continuing to be actively be involved with hospice care, Dr. Terry’s scope of services will expand to include clinical oversight of our other services for seniors and caregivers as St. Francis Healthcare System’s vision for the St. Francis Kupuna Village comes to full fruition.
Dr. Terry rejoined St. Francis Healthcare System as a Medical Director of St. Francis Hospice in June 2016. He previously served as one of our Medical Directors for St. Francis Hospice from 2012 – 2014.
He has more than a decade of hospice care experience from Arizona Palliative Home Care, New Century Health/Arizona Palliative Home Care Oncology Collaboration, Hospice of the Valley, all in Phoenix, Arizona.
Dr. Terry is board certified in hospice and palliative care. Before focusing on hospice care, he co-founded Desert Vista Medical Associates, an internal medicine-based inpatient-outpatient group that employed more than 20 physicians and served patients in three hospitals and two clinics.
Dr. Terry’s received a bachelor of science degree in molecular and cellular biology from the University of Arizona and a medical degree from the University of Arizona’s College of Medicine.
