About 15 St. Francis Healthcare System volunteers gathered for a Volunteer Summit for a morning of fun, food and learning at the Franciscan Vistas Ewa activities room on Saturday, February 27.
Maylynn Wong, Manager of Volunteer Programs, initiated a quarterly Volunteer Summit program when she joined St. Francis Healthcare System, so that the volunteers could network with each other. She holds the summits on a quarterly basis – two in Liliha and two in Ewa.
“Many of them do not get to see each other since they volunteer by visiting patients in their homes or at nursing homes, and this provides a way for them to get to know each other,” she said.
Maylynn reviews policies and procedures and requirements of The Joint Commission, mixed with fun games and a brunch. Renni Fay Iwasa and Betty Coffer joined Maylynn to help coordinate the recent Volunteer Summit.
