Marian Constance Medeiros Tuition Assistance Fund Supports 36 Dependents with $18,000 in Tuition Assistance

June 18, 2013

graduationThe Sisters of St. Francis and their School of Nursing left a positive, lasting impression on Marian Constance Medeiros. Before she passed away, she had established a trust fund that was named the Marian Constance Medeiros Tuition Assistance Fund to be used for scholarships for children of St. Francis Healthcare System.   The fund, managed by St. Francis Healthcare Foundation of Hawaii, has provided tuition assistance to dependents of employees since 1999. This year, $500 scholarship awards were given to 36 dependents.  Tuition assistance is available as a benefit to dependent children of regular full time and part-time employees of the St. Francis Healthcare System of Hawaii and its subsidiaries who have at least five years of service and are in good standing.

The children must be under age 23 and be wholly dependent upon the employee, be unmarried, and enrolled in or planning to enroll in an educational institution as a full-time student, kindergarten through college, including post graduate and technical schools.  The awards are based solely an employee’s good standing at work and the intent of the employee to carry forth the mission and exemplify the values of St. Francis Healthcare System.  Congratulations to the following students and their parents:
