St. Francis Healthcare Foundation was among the 150 nonprofit organizations that were recently selected to be a beneficiary of the Friends of Hawaii Charities, Inc. St. Francis received $4,000 this year.
The Friends of Hawaii Charities’ signature fundraising event is the Sony Open in Hawaii PGA TOUR. The Sony Open’s “Drive To A $Million” charity initiative successfully reached $1 million for the 12th consecutive year!
This success is attributed primarily to the significant, long-time charity partnership of The Harry & Jeanette Weinberg Foundation, Inc., which provides a dollar-for-dollar matching for funds raised at the PGA TOUR event.
Sony Corporation’s commitment to the Sony Open in Hawaii extends through 2018 – the 20th anniversary its title sponsorship of the prestigious PGA TOUR event. Tournament charity sponsor The Harry & Jeanette Weinberg Foundation and host site Waialae Country Club have also extended their partnership through 2018.
Since its inception, the Sony Open in Hawaii and The Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Foundation have generated more than $16 million for more than 350 local charities. Next year’s Sony Open in Hawaii is scheduled for January 9 – 15, 2017.
