By popular request and because of the positive response to the event on ti lei-making and chi kung that was held as a prelude to Memorial Day on May 20, St. Francis Hospice Bereavement Services is starting a new support group in Wahiawa.
The group will meet at the Wahiawa Botanical Gardens on the second Tuesday of the month, beginning in August. Meeting dates will be August 9, September 13, October 11, (no November meeting), and December 13, 2016. Meetings are held 9:30 am to 11:30 am. Free parking.
“It’s an opportunity to let the healing powers of nature restore you,” says Valerie Payton, LCSW, Bereavement Social Worker with St. Francis Hospice who facilitates this support group. “It will be a time of sharing, of learning, of appreciating what has been and beginning to look toward what will be.”
The meetings will be held in the Gathering Room, just inside the park entrance of Wahiawa Botanical Gardens. The glass-enclosed room provides a view of the surrounding natural beauty of the park.
“When the weather is fine, we may spend part of our time together in a nature walk on the Upper Terrace,” Valerie added. “This gentle walk is also wheelchair accessible.”
Registration is required. To register, please contact Valerie Payton, LCSW, at (808) 547-8144 or VPayton@stfrancishawaii.org
