Franciscan Vistas Ewa
The Sisters of St. Francis have always been committed to creating healthy communities. For the first time in their history in Hawaii, the Sisters are taking their mission literally to heart with the development of a vibrant, master planned residential community. Designed with living well in mind, this community, known as Franciscan Vistas Ewa, is located on 23 acres in historic Ewa Villages.
The conceptual design of Franciscan Vistas Ewa reflects a close-knit, plantation-style community with features that complement the character and history of Ewa. Stacked single-level one- and two-bedroom rental apartments will be available, while two-story townhomes with two or three bedrooms and two-story homes featuring three-bedroom models will be offered for purchase. Homes will be surrounded by lush tropical landscaping including gardens featuring healing plants.
Multigenerational households may choose to purchase in Franciscan Vistas Ewa; however, rental apartments are exclusively for seniors age 62 and older. Unlike any other planned community in Hawaii, Franciscan Vistas Ewa will offer "Stay Healthy at Home," a unique health and wellness program available to households with older adults. As their needs change, elderly residents will be able to receive a range of supportive care services, from case management to chore services and more, in the comfort of their own homes. The Franciscan Vistas Ewa neighborhood is in close proximity to child care, churches, parks, shopping, schools, family services, and medical facilities.

Site construction is expected to begin in 2007 with construction of Phase I buildings to begin nine months later. Development of Phase II apartments, houses and the senior community center will immediately follow completion of the first phase. Occupancy is slated for the fourth quarter of 2008.
