Every day, we have the privilege of serving Hawaii’s families by helping them find the appropriate level of care. That care may be in their own home, at a program that St. Francis Healthcare System offers, at our inpatient hospice facility, or at a program that is offered by others in the community. Our goal is always to put individuals and families in touch with the best care possible for their situation.
St. Francis Healthcare System also has the privilege of crossing paths with the most generous people. These supporters are individuals or groups that see how St. Francis Healthcare System transforms lives by delivering health to others.
They may see how we help families navigate today’s complex health care system, and address the social and financial planning aspects of care that can weigh them down and affect their health.
They may see how we provide seniors with enriching activities and personalized attention in a secure, nurturing environment at our adult day care programs in Manoa and Ewa, while also giving peace of mind to family caregivers who cannot leave their loved ones safely at home while they are away at work.
They may also see how we give toddlers a great start in life at our preschool in Ewa, and how their youthful energy creates intergenerational support with those in our adult day care program.
They may see how we serve elders with limited mobility by providing in-home bathing and personal care services to give family members well-deserved respite.
They may also see how St. Francis Healthcare System is working toward social justice, addressing health disparities in our community by providing low-income older adults with affordable senior independent living in Ewa Villages.
They may see how we help individuals and organizations to be renewed, refreshed and reinvigorated at our retreat center in Waianae.
They may also see how we reach out to those without homes in Waianae, providing them with nourishing meals and restoring their dignity.
Or they may be impressed with how we empower family members with practical training and education classes, so they can step into the role of caregiver with more confidence and less stress.
St. Francis Healthcare System is all about people helping people. Collectively, the St. Francis team members are instruments of God’s healing, and we appreciate others who want to join our efforts. This month, we received generous support from pilots and flight attendants! World Wings International, the philanthropic organization of former Pan Am flight attendants, and the Pilot International Founders Fund, both wanted to show their support for St. Francis Hospice volunteers. Please read about them in this newsletters’ story, “World Wings Soars to Exciting Levels.”
Mahalo for allowing St. Francis Healthcare System to be a part of your life, and for allowing us to support others in the spirit of Christ’s healing ministry.
Mahalo,
