Care and Compassion

You don’t have to do it alone.  St. Francis Healthcare System was founded to meet the needs of people most in need of care.  Families dealing with a life-threatening illness or caring for a fragile elder at home, and people struggling to feed and house themselves and their children, often feel isolated, afraid, or frustrated.  They think no one understands, and they may be afraid to ask for help.  Anger and frustration may make a difficult situation even worse.

The Sisters of St. Francis and their staff have been caring for Hawaii’s people since 1883.  To us, compassion means “unconditionally embracing people and welcoming them with heart and mind”.  In the spirit of St. Francis of Assisi’s legacy of concern for the sick, the homeless, and the abandoned, we reach out to those at the margins of society, hoping to bring peace, comfort, and friendship to those who need it.  We do our best to follow the example of Christ’s healing ministry and the teachings of St. Francis of Assisi, caring for all with kindness, respect, and concern.  We understand, and we can help.
