How we relate to our patients and their families is often a reflection of how we treat each other within St. Francis Healthcare System. When employees on the frontline who are providing direct patient care feel supported and respected, this is often transferred to those who are entrusted in our care through a referring physician or other source. That’s why managers play such a critical role in shaping our Franciscan culture of caring and upholding our values of joy, simplicity, peacemaking and charity.
Marieta Agustin, RN, Home Health Manager with St. Francis Home Care Services, exemplifies the qualities of such a manager, and why she deserves to be our Employee of the Quarter! She was surprised with the honor last week when it was presented by Jerry Correa, Chief Executive Officer; Corinne Suzuka, RN, Exeuctive Director of Hospice and Home Health; Trish Walsh-Domingo, RN, Director of Clinical Services; and David Kowalski, Senior Vice President – Franciscan Care Services.
In the time that Marieta has been with St. Francis, she has distinguished herself as a source of encouragement and empowerment for the healthcare professionals involved with home health. She is known for always asking how she can be of support and how she can help others do a great job.
“She believes deeply in our mission and values and it comes out in her daily routine and interactions with others,” wrote John Beasley, RN, in his nomination of Marieta. “Her caring spirit is obvious and contagious.” Congratulations to Marieta!
