Conceptual design for senior apartment building

The Sisters of St. Francis, with a continued commitment to creating healthy communities, is developing a vibrant, master planned residential community with an emphasis on seniors living well. In the historic Ewa Villages on Oahu, Franciscan Vistas Ewa reflects a close-knit, plantation style community with features that complement the character and history of Ewa.

Situated within Franciscan Vistas Ewa is a safe, independent-living community for seniors featuring stacked, one-story rental apartments. Franciscan Vistas Ewa combines one- and two-bedroom flats equipped with a full kitchen and fitted with ADA-accessible amenities. Twenty-four-hour supportive care services will be available as needed, on a fee-for-service basis.

Conceptual design for Senior Center

A senior center will serve as a social and health and wellness centerpiece for Franciscan Vistas Ewa, where residents can easily gather for concerts, cultural activities, social and ethnic clubs, health and fitness activities, arts and crafts, music, dance, and a farmer’s market.

Unlike any other planned community in Hawaii, Franciscan Vistas Ewa will offer “Stay Healthy at Home,” a unique program available in households with older adults. As their needs change, elderly residents will be able to receive a range of supportive care services, from case management and assistance with daily living activities to long-term health care in the comfort of their own home through an exclusive provider network established for the community. 

Rental apartments will be offered exclusively to seniors age 62 and above.  The residential care supportive environment will provide a continuum of care to meet the changing physical, social and mental health needs of its residents. Through the unique “Stay Healthy at Home” program, residents will receive in-home services from meal preparation to live-in help rather than needing to move into a care facility.

Site construction is expected to begin in 2009 with occupancy slated for 2010.
