Wen-yu Lee, M.D. and Anna Loengard, M.D. are co-medical directors for St. Francis Hospice, the first and largest hospice program in Hawaii. Together, they bring a high caliber of care for hospice patients and peace of mind for families in Hawaii. Their responsibilities include overseeing all medical aspects of the patient's care in the home and inpatient facilities. They also work closely with the patient's attending physician for pain and symptom management, and serve as a liaison to patients and their families and the medical community.

Wen-yu Lee, M.D., M.B.A. - Co-Medical Director
Dr. Lee is board certified in hospice and palliative care as well as internal medicine. She is an associate clinical professor at the University of Hawaii John A. Burns School of Medicine and also serves as a palliative care and pain consultant at Straub Clinic and Hospital.
Her background includes serving as a hospitalist and founder of the hospitalist programs at Straub and at Castle Medical Center. Dr. Lee has been associated with St. Francis since 2003 as a fellow of The St. Francis International Center for Healthcare Ethics.
She completed her internship at the Illinois Masonic Medical Center in Chicago and her residency through the University of Hawaii Integrated Medical Residency Program.

Anna Loengard, M.D. - Co-Medical Director
Dr. Loengard is board certified in palliative medicine, geriatrics and internal medicine. Prior to moving to Hawaii in 2009, she served as founder and president of Successful Caring, Inc., a consulting company that educates caregivers on how to provide the best medical care possible for aging loved ones.
At Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York, she trained medical students, residents and Geriatrics fellows on the complexities of outpatient geriatric care and managed medical and hospice care for frail, homebound elderly patients. She also served as an attending physician for the School’s Acute Care for the Elderly Inpatient Unit and Palliative Care Consult Service.
Dr. Loengard completed her residency in internal medicine at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center at Harvard Medical School and a one-year fellowship in geriatrics at the University of Arizona School of Medicine in Tucson.
